How to decrease the spacing in Chrome’s bookmark lists - ramirezwharleas
If you're a Google Chrome drug user, you may have noticed a recent change in your browser. About a workweek ago, Google pushed out an update that increased the spacing between bookmarks.
Specifically, when I click one of the folders in my Bookmarks Bar, I get a discharge-down list of all the links in that pamphlet. But now I understand fewer bookmarks in that leaning because at that place's supernumerary Patrick White infinite between each unmatchable.
In other words, to use a word-processing doctrine of analogy, it's like Google bumped rising the product line spacing from single to double.
No like!
I'm sure enough the programmers did this to improve readability, but you make out what? I had no problem with my bookmarks' readability before. I didn't ask for this change, I don't want this shift, and, most vexing of all, I tin can't easily undo this change.
[Apart: Software developers really need to cut this out. Don't they know how perplexing–and possibly upsetting–it is to users when things change out of the blue, without warning and without an choice to reverse those changes? I'm looking at you, Facebook. And now you too, Google.End of aside.]
Thankfully, there is a direction to force Chrome in reply to its freehand bookmark spacing: You just get to a small change to the browser's shortcut. Here's how:
1. Find the background ikon you utilise to launch Chrome. If it's on the desktop proper, right-click it and opt Properties. If IT's in your Windows taskbar (i.e. at the as of the screen), right-snap IT, and then right-tick Google Chromium-plate in the menu that appears, and then fall into place Properties.
2. Find the Target playing field. Suction stop inside IT, then go on your pointer to the very end of the ancestry (which should read "chrome.exe").
3. Hit the quad bar to insert a space, then paste in the next text:–disable-new-menu-mode
4. Click O.k., then launch Chrome.
Presto! Your line spatial arrangement should be back to the way IT was before.
What perform you think of this change to Chrome? For the better, or honourable plainly unnecessary?
